Divorce Mediation

A calmer, lower-cost path through divorce — reach your own agreement on property, parenting and support with a neutral guide, and keep control of the outcome.

Overview

A calmer path through divorce

Divorce is hard enough without turning it into a courtroom battle. Mediation lets you and your spouse reach your own agreement — on property, parenting and support — guided by a neutral professional, usually faster and at a fraction of the cost of litigation. This service is part of our broader Family Law practice.

We agree a clear, transparent fee for the mediation up front, and prepare the marital settlement agreement and filings so the outcome is properly documented.

FAQ

Good to know

How is mediation different from litigation?
In mediation you and your spouse work together, with a neutral guide, to reach your own agreement — rather than a judge imposing one. It is usually faster, less expensive and less adversarial, which matters most when children are involved.
Do we each still need a lawyer?
The mediator stays neutral and does not advise either side. It is often wise for each spouse to have independent counsel review the agreement before signing, and we can explain how that fits alongside the mediation.
How long does a mediated divorce take?
Many mediated divorces resolve in a handful of sessions over a few months — far quicker than a contested case. The timeline depends on how many issues need to be worked through and how ready both parties are to negotiate.
